Michigan. If you had told me three months ago I would be living in Michigan, I would have just chuckled. Well…now I live in the Mitten. My name is Ben and I am the New Media and Community Relations specialist at Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital. I’m ending my fourth week of employment at MFB, first month is down.
I left Indianapolis, Indiana and a very cool new media and TV show, DoItIndy, to come and help bring our hospital into a new age – the digital revolution age. The rehab hospital does so many amazing things and when I interviewed, it just felt like home. Mary Free Bed felt like the right place for me. Plus, Grand Rapids is a very cool city and I love to explore my local hometown. I made the leap and moved over four and a half hours away from Indianapolis bringing my soon to be wife (Kelly) and dog (Nala) along for the ride.
My job takes me all over the hospital and the West Michigan area. I help run the digital media at the hospital, do some media relations work and go to community events to be a representative and hand out cool giveaways! ☺
